La Mota.
Is a raised path on the south of the town, on the exit along the river. Nowadays it is a nice walk, an amazing place to enjoy good weather and a beautiful landscape. It is a great place to go for a walk and exercise a little bit. Also great for walking with children or with your dog, for chatting with the eldest or even for running away from your worries.
This path’s historical and original use was an embankment which acted as a retaining wall for the waters of the river Ter when there was a flood. This used to happen regularly during the mid-XX century before the construction of Sau, Susqueda and Pasteral reservoirs. The angry river was a danger for people, cattle, houses and the farming. For this reason, in the past, the neighbors had to spend some days doing maintenance and repairing work on this path whenever it was needed.
